Screen of sand
A thin layer of white Lochaline sand is glued to stretched nylon mesh producing a translucent surface.
Constructions made of thin strips of veneer or paper are attached behind it, perpendicular to the screen.
A background is then added to reflect light through the composition and onto the picture plane.
The colouring and shading of the internal composition radiates onto the sand surface as
a flat two dimensional image.
